The European Information Technologies Certification Instititute (EITCI) is an internationally recognized European scientific organization developing IT training and IT certification programmes, methodologies and standards. The two main frameworks for the IT certification programmes, governed and licensed by the Institute are the European IT Certification Academy (EITCA) programme and the European IT Certification (EITC) programme, targeted at students, engineering workforce and IT professionals, enabling formal documentation of their advanced IT knowledge, engineering skills and expertise. In opposition to other European certification programme, the ECDL (European Computer Driving License) which is crafted for computer end-users, the EITC certification programme is specially designed to enable key competencies in the modern job market, far more advanced and well recognized in all industries (especially the IT industry). The EITCI Headquarters are based in Brussels (Belgium) but local EITCI office branches are distributed in most European Union member states (both the European IT Certification Academy EITCA and the European IT Certification EITC programmes, are accessible globally in over 200 countries). The Institute holds many strategic industry alliance certification and training programmes, in collaboration with multiple entities of IT Research and Development sphere, as well as with IT Corporate and IT SMEs economic sectors in the EU (under the International IT Certification Alliance Network cooperation initiative, in abbreviation the IITCAN). EITCI is also significantly engaged in scientific cooperation in numerous Research and Development consortia, including projects towards EU R&D Framework Programme 7 in the ICT (Information Communication Technologies) theme, EU IST (Information Society Technologies) programmes, targeted IT EU programmes like EUREKA and other EU based IT scientific projects. The most significant activity of the EITCI is supervision over a broadly crafted European IT Certification Academy (EITCA) and the European IT Certification (EITC) programmes targeted at individuals and organizations worldwide. Beyond governing the EITCA and the EITC programmes, The European IT Certification Institute is dedicated to providing professional industry standarizing guidelines for Information Technologies (IT) training (including SCORM complying e-Learning methodologies) and IT certification methodologies. In the European Union there are already living and working over 50.000 of certified IT Professionals, continuously supported by the EITCI, which is expanding the EITCA and EITC IT Certificates global recognition by the development of the International IT Certification Alliance Network (IITCAN) collaboration initiative. The legal form of the EITCI Institute is an international non-profit association, in accordance with provisions of Title III of the Belgian Law of 27 June 1921, granting legal personality to non-profit associations and establishments of public utility as amended. The Institute has its headquarters office in Belgium, at Boulevard d'Ypres 84, 1000 Brussels. It also runs many other administrative and operational offices, both in Belgium and abroad (in most of the EU member states).
